Child safety standards

Plunk has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

ADULTS ONLY

Plunk is for people aged 18 and over. Everyone gives their date of birth when they sign up, and under-18s can’t create an account. Accounts we believe belong to a minor are removed.

WHAT IS NEVER ALLOWED

  • Any sexual content involving minors, real or fictional.
  • Grooming, or trying to contact or meet a minor.
  • Sexualising minors, or sharing or asking for material that does.
  • Anyone under 18 using Plunk.

HOW WE ENFORCE IT

  • Every bottle, public or private, is checked by automated rules and an AI classifier before anyone hears it. Signs of a minor, or of sexual content involving one, hold the bottle for a person to review or turn it back.
  • Anyone can report a bottle from the app, with “minor safety” as a reason. Reporting stops the bottle and blocks the sender at once, and a Lighthouse keeper reviews it.
  • Keepers can ban an account straight away for child safety. Banned emails can’t make a new account.
  • We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement.

REPORT A CONCERN

In the app, report the bottle. Anywhere else, or if you’re not a Plunk user, email safety@getplunk.app. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first.
